John Mullen and the Snoqualmie Tribe - Wood Carvers

John Mullen, Wayne Graika, Damian Moses, Jacob Mullen and Bruce Larson are five very talented wood carvers who create dug-out canoes, cedar strip canoes, paddles, masks, drums, model canoes, bowls, bent boxes, story planks and totem poles.

To give you some understanding of canoe carving, watch this video, hosted by John W. Mullen, a Tribal Elder of the Snoqualmie Tribe, from Snoqualmie WA.  John runs the wood carving program for the Snoqualmie Tribe and is a Master Carver of cedar canoes.  Listen and learn about this Northwestern Native American skill and the Snoqualmie culture. Enjoy!
